The Department of Higher Education is charged with the responsibility to monitor and regulate the functions of all Higher Education Institutions in Union territory of Jammu and Kashmir by extending facilities for opening of Colleges and Universities.

The Union Territory Higher Education Common Admission Portal - 2025 is being introduced for admission into all UG Programmes offered by Government and Jammu/Kashmir University) for affiliating Government Colleges, Cluster Universities and Private Colleges or Universities or Autonomous Colleges for academic session 2025-26 under the Department of Higher Education of J&K. This initiative will help candidates to cover a wide outreach and be part of the admission process to J&K Higher Education institutions.
